Apartment Complex Remodel
I have been working with a client who owns and manages apartment complexes in the South. He has asked me to stage a model apartment and decorate the leasing offices at each complex.
I have really enjoyed doing this for a few reasons. I have to think like an aparment resident and be conscious of the budgets they might have, the stores they might frequent and the young style they might be attracted to. I have definitely learned how to find a bargain! When a potential resident walks into the leasing office, we want them to feel comfortable, at home and realize that the attention to detail in the office continues throughout the complex.
Here are few pictures of the staged model apartment.
These are of the leasing offices at two different properties. You'll notice that they have a similar style and color scheme in an effort to help this company create an identity and be recognized by potential leasees.

Serene Guest Bedroom
It's been a while since I've posted pictures, but I've been busy working so I have a lot to share today.
This client wanted a soft, calm guest bedroom. I think we went a little out of her comfort zone in this room.....she is typically drawn to warm reds, yellows and greens and was afraid this room would be cold. We both agree that it turned out to be a beautiful bedroom! There are several details in this room to notice. The headboard has a beautiful cream painted finish and I love the ruffle on the inside edge of the drapery panels.

Den with clean lines and a touch of tradition
Here are a few updated pictures of this Den I've been working on recently. I love this room! It's so nice and clean and simple with a little modern and traditional thrown in. These clients are a joy to work with!
Notice how the turquoise pillows on the sofa pick up the blues in the watercolors above the fireplace. I love this color combo....yellow, gray, white and turquoise! We've since added an accent chair by the sofa and are working on the Entry. We found a gorgeous muted antique rug in yellows and grays with a touch of the turquoise and a fabulous console table, bench and mirror from Amy Howard. Those pictures will be up soon!

This is the Kitchen right off of the Den. We chose a cream linen drapery with a soft turquoise band on the inside edge to relate to the Den. The chairs are beautiful! Let's hope some sticky fingers don't get to them soon! And, the bird painting is my favorite part of this space....it's so charming!

Design in Nashville
I was in Nashville at the beginning of the week spending time with a builder friend of mine....Seth Argo of The Focus Group. He does amazing work! Really, his houses are gorgeous and make a great addition to the new construction happening in the Green Hills area.
I am fortunate to be working with Seth on his next two houses in the Belle Meade Highlands area. I will be selecting all exterior and interior finishes. Stay tuned for updates on the houses along the way.......
Here are a few pictures of one that Seth has already sold.....just to give you an idea of what's to come on these new houses!
Open kitchen and living space that leads to a screened porch through a set of French doors.
Butler's pantry between the Kitchen and Dining Room. Wish I had one!
Gorgeous Master Bathroom! Travertine tiles are laid in a herringbone pattern. The vanity is painted a soft blue/green color that is so soothing.
Freestanding tub and glass tile detail on the wall add so much character to this bathroom.

Welcome to L. Barton Interiors!
I am an independent designer in Memphis with a lot of experience in the design world, but not a lot in the blogging world. My main goal is to use this blog as a way to showcase my portfolio of interior design projects and to share with you a little bit about me.
So, here are a few pictures of my recent designs. My hope is always to design a space that fits my client....that "looks like them"....... that feels like home to them. So, you'll see several different styles. I don't want my designs to look the same. I want each one to be unique, so I work really hard to interview my clients and understand their style....instead of making THEIR home look like MY home!
I love the eclectic and classic elements of this gorgeous home!
This client has been so much fun to work with. We are still working on this room - adding accessories and such - but we're off to a great start! She loves to mix things up and add a bit of the unexpected. When we started working together she told me that she hates anything that looks "farmy" (rustic, beaten up) and loves a little sparkle.
